Meet Chef Chong Ko Wai — better known as “Breadpitt” 🍰✨


Co-founder of TEXTURE Patisserie and former senior lecturer at the Academy of Pastry Arts Malaysia, Chef Chong is known for his modern approach to French pastries, polished sugar and chocolate work, and gracefully constructed desserts.


This year, he returns to APCA Malaysia for an exclusive Modern French Pastry Masterclass — sharing his approach to cake construction, flavour pairing, texture balance, and design. More than just recipes, this is a chance to step into the mind of a pastry chef who has shaped and inspired a generation of pastry professionals in Malaysia.

Chong Ko Wai

Fascinated by the world of pastry from a very young age, Chong Ko Wai completed his professional training in Malaysia and chose international competitions to showcase his talent, philosophy and approach to pastry, specializing in artistic creations, fusion pastry and chocolate.

His creations require extreme attention in all aspects of flavour, design, and construction. His unique philosophy and precision has earned him the title as an ambassador of Elle et Vire. His accolades, including achieving 4th place at Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie in 2015 and being the first ever Malaysian to grace the podium of the Mondial Des Art Sucre, attest to his expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Chef Chong is among the most successful trainers on the Asian scene; in 2019 he founded Texture by C3, together with Chef Lawrence Bobo.
